Job Description:

The Project Manager is responsible for construction, renovation, modification, and repair projects within the FedVet Construction portfolio, which includes hospitals and cemeteries. Projects typically have budgets up to $4,000,000. Major duties encompass pre-construction, construction, and close-out functions of government contracts. This includes developing project budgets and schedules; diligently initiating, monitoring, and following through on all construction-related activities to ensure that work aligns with clients' needs and is executed promptly within the project budget. The position demands robust administrative, collaborative, writing, and negotiation skills, sufficient for taking full responsibility and accountability in managing assigned projects and ensuring compliance with all relevant specifications, codes, and permits. The ability to work collaboratively with various company personnel (such as the Office Manager, Contract Specialist, AP Manager, government staff, Building Engineers, Contracts Manager), government agencies (like the VA, Army Corps, Bureau of Land Management, and other testing and inspection agencies), and external parties (consultants, vendors, etc.) is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the successful execution of federal construction projects as the primary point of contact, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with federal agencies and stakeholders, including USACE, VA, National Parks, BLM, and NAVFAC, to navigate their respective processes, specifications, and standards.
  • Manage and coordinate project activities, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and procurement, to ensure project success within established parameters.
  • Utilize your expertise to effectively lead and manage project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Maintain a strong focus on project safety, ensuring compliance with all federal safety regulations and fostering a safety-first culture throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, stakeholders, and government agencies, providing updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Utilize Microsoft 365, Procore, and USACE RMS proficiency to effectively manage project documentation, communication, and reporting.
  • Oversee quality control processes, ensuring adherence to project specifications and facilitating inspections and certifications as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager in federal contracting, with specific experience working on projects with USACE, VA, National Parks, BLM, and NAVFAC.
  • Demonstrated expertise in civil construction and tenant improvements, showcasing successful project delivery in these areas.
  • In-depth understanding of federal construction regulations, processes, specifications, and standards for USACE, VA, National Parks, BLM, and NAVFAC projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Procore, and USACE RMS, with the ability to effectively utilize these tools for project management, communication, and documentation.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and motivate project teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with clients, stakeholders, government agencies, and project teams.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California Drivers' License and have ability to operate a company vehicle in the course of performing the job duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Construction Project Management Professional (CPMP) certification or equivalent.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with LEED or sustainability initiatives in construction.
  • Additional certifications relevant to federal construction projects.

Additional Job Information:

Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000 annually
